Joselyn was born in New Haven, CT and raised in Bowie, MD. As she mirrored and studied other artists during her youth, Joselyn mastered her ability to sing and play the piano, which led to an opening performance for Shirley Caesar during a local concert in Washington, DC. Since then, Joselyn has worked with several music influences such as Steve Lawrence, Myrna Summers, and Kevin Lavar and many more.
In 2012 Joselyn composed her first single entitled "All About Me" which translates well on healing, soul searching, and life accomplishments. “I Wonder,” Joselyn’s second single allows others to see her thoughts as she goes through life’s experiences. Her third release, “There Are Times,” is a clarion call to declare freedom from all things trying to hinder life. In the midst of pursing her musical career, Joselyn began her own business in May 2013 of JB Soulful Soundz, comprised of her band, songwriting, vocal lessons & production, and entertainment events.
Joselyn’s album, A Changed Mind, was released March 16, 2014. Since her release, Joselyn began her No Covers Original Open Mic platform for independent artists to have a platform to share their ORIGINAL WORK which led to her to partnering with WSAATL –which stands for- Writing Sessions of America Atlanta. Joselyn continues to provide opportunity for artist, she organized a trip and took over 30 artists with her to participate in their singer- songwriter retreat, participated in the 5 Arts Festival in Atlanta, GA, instructed her own vocal camp at the Performing Arts Center in Hampton, VA, hosts her annual Stepping for The Cure Breast Cancer Awareness Event, volunteers her performance annually for the Thanksgiving Harvest Feast at the Northampton Community Center, has performed at many venues, and was honored to open up for Larry Graham at the Virginia Beach Funk Fest and performed for over 30,000 people in 2015. In addition, Joselyn was nominated for artist of the year by Excellence Awards, and was awarded the Greater 24 Peoples List Media Screen Award 2016, 2015 she performed at the Hampton Jazz Festival opening for Charlie Wilson, Stephanie Mills and Boney James.
